Google has announced a $1.5 billion investment for 2026 and 2027 to expand its data center campus in Jackson County, Alabama. Operating since 2019 on a repurposed former coal-plant site, the facility powers essential digital services while driving long-term regional growth. As part of this expansion, Google is funding 100% of its own power and infrastructure costs.
