Customize Ars your way with an Ars Pro subscription

Having it your way is one of the benefits of being an Ars Pro subscriber. You get all of the great content you come to Ars for every day, but you get to choose how you parse it. Some readers want the classic blog-style homepage. Others want as many headlines as possible packed onto one screen. Some want a wider text column; others would happily never see another story about a topic they don’t follow. We’ve got you covered.

Both Grid and List views are available for all readers, but subscribing to Ars unlocks two additional layout options. Our old-school Classic view reprises the original site layout from 1998, the year the Ars Orbiting HQ launched. Turn the clock back with Classic View.

But if you really, really love information density (or like to read Hacker News style), you’ll love the Neutron Star layout, the ultimate in minimalism. No pictures, just words. And with keyboard navigation, you never need to reach for your mouse.

An Ars Pro subscription lets you tweak the site to optimize the way you read. Choose your favorite view, filter your favorite topics, adjust the reading layout, and make Ars feel less like a website designed for everyone and more like one designed for you.

Beyond changing the look and feel of Ars to your tastes, subscribing also unlocks all of the other Ars Pro features, including:

  • No ads
  • No trackers
  • Optimized page layout
  • Full-text RSS feeds
  • Access to subscriber-only forums
  • And a special user badge for Ars Pro++ subscribers

Most importantly, you’re directly supporting Ars Technica’s journalistic mission at a critical time. And you get all of this for just $25 for an Ars Pro membership and $50 for Ars Pro++.

And while we’re on the topic of journalism, there is one small thing you could do for Ars, regardless of whether you subscribe. To absolutely no one’s surprise, Google’s search-result AI summaries have led to a drop in traffic for everyone, Ars included. Google does allow users to designate specific websites as a preferred source, which makes their stories more likely to appear on the “Top Stories” section of Google searches.

If you use Google and are willing to set Ars as a Preferred Source, simply click on the icon that looks like a black box with a white star. From there, you can enter Ars Technica (and any other site you love and want to support) in the text box and select it as a preferred source.

然后,你可以在文本框中输入 Ars Technica(以及任何你喜爱并希望支持的网站),并将其选为首选来源。
