On 24 August 2026, cease and desist letters were sent by X Corp. demanding a permanent takedown of Nitter instances and the project’s repository. 2026 年 8 月 24 日，X Corp. 发出停止侵权函（Cease and Desist），要求永久关闭 Nitter 实例及该项目的代码仓库。

The project features no JavaScript requirements, zero ads, and ensures all requests go through the backend so the client never talks to Twitter directly.
