The White House has taken down its racist Tetris ripoff days after launching a website dedicated to “arcade” games, as spotted earlier by Kotaku. The Tetris clone, called “Build the Wall,” involved stacking different-sized blocks to prevent a “zombie border siege.”
It’s not clear why the White House removed the title, though the Tetris Company previously said that it’s looking into the situation. “For more than 40 years, Tetris has brought people together across generations and cultures through play and joy,” Tetris spokesperson Kerri Brusca told The Verge last week. “The objective of the game has always been to stack with purpose to clear as many lines as possible. We are currently reviewing the matter.”
The Verge reached out to the Tetris Company with a request for comment but didn’t immediately hear back.
The Verge
Other “games” that align with President Donald Trump’s agenda are still available on the White House’s website, including the Flappy Bird ripoff “Flappy Bill,” a Tapper-like game called “Supply Line,” “Trump Savings Tycoon,” and “Rio Run.”
