TikTok agrees to pay at least $100M in Alabama settlement

TikTok will pay Alabama at least $100 million in a settlement tied to allegations that the short-form video platform misled users about safety and was designed to addict children. The case was scheduled to go to trial on Monday. TikTok 将向阿拉巴马州支付至少 1 亿美元，以就该短视频平台误导用户安全问题及被设计为让儿童上瘾的指控达成和解。该案件原定于周一开庭审理。

According to the Alabama attorney general’s office, TikTok could end up paying the state a total of $300 million, depending on “certain conditions.” The company also agreed to introduce a two-hour daily time limit for underage users, with additional parental controls, as well as restrictions on overnight usage and cosmetic filters. 据阿拉巴马州总检察长办公室称，根据“特定条件”，TikTok 最终可能向该州支付总计 3 亿美元。该公司还同意为未成年用户引入每日两小时的使用时间限制，并增加家长控制功能，同时对夜间使用和美颜滤镜进行限制。
