Marvel releases one last VisionQuest trailer

With its premiere just two weeks away, Marvel Studios has dropped one last trailer for the limited series, VisionQuest, which will complete the trilogy begun with WandaVision and Agatha All Along. As previously reported, Marvel’s streaming TV portfolio has kind of been all over the place: a handful of hits, a few misses, and a bunch of middling offerings. One standout was WandaVision, followed by an excellent sequel (of sorts), Agatha All Along. His discreet existence ends when a bounty placed on his head thrusts him on the run with Thomas Shepard, a mysterious boy who may be Vision’s son, reincarnate. Bettany is returning as Vision, along with James Spader as Ultron. Agatha All Along gave us a new Billy Maximoff, whose soul took over the dying body of another teen as Wanda’s spell unraveled at the end of WandaVision. Henry Lewis and Jonathan Sayer play DUME and U, respectively, two of Stark’s robot workshop assistants. In addition, Lauren Morais plays Lisa Molinari; Diane Morgan plays an associate of Paladin; Cristian Lavin plays a mercenary; and Mary McDonnell will appear in an as-yet-undisclosed role. Marvel unveiled the first trailer at D23 in August, introducing Vision’s existential crisis and the primary characters inhabiting his interior mindscape. This new trailer opens with Vision (in human form) entering a reception area and announcing that he’s there “for the trap.” A gunfight ensues before we return to Vision’s interior world. “[The original] Vision was a hero,” Vision says. “An Avenger. The “impossibly cruel and callous” Ultron seeks to exploit Vision’s confusion, using Tommy as leverage. “Free me, and save your son,” Ultron demands, all so he can “finish what I started all those years ago.” (Fans will recall that in Age of Ultron, the newly sentient AI wanted to wipe out humanity in order to save Earth.
